Longtime Favorite Now Bluewater Bar & Grill
Brian Thimme changes the name and atmosphere of the former Tyler Point Grille in Barrington.
The Tyler Point Grille, if you haven’t seen the new sign, is now the Bluewater Bar & Grill.
“It was time for a change,” said Brian Thimme, who has owned one of Barrington’s signature restaurants for about 2 ½ years. “I’m trying to make it my own.”
Thimme said he has "digested the Tyler Point Grille" and is keeping the best of the longtime Barington favorite while making it “more fun, fresh and family friendly.”

“I’m trying to give more life to the place,” he said, including a remodeling that gives the restaurant a “more contemporary feel.”
Thimme also said he has revised the menu.

“We’re keeping the favorites but adding new things,” he said, which should appeal to past customers while attracting new ones.
The new name was selected because he believes it shows that the restaurant is “something fun and light and cool. We just came up with it.”
The hours remain the same – seven nights a week for dinner. And he still does private events during the day.
The patio out front has been opened for the season again. Starting next month, he said, there will be music on the patio and inside certain days of the week.
“It’s been a gradual change,” Thimme said.
But effective yesterday, he said, the Tyler Point Grille is now the Bluewater Bar & Grill.
