Michael J. Meranda
He helped to launch the world's first online bank and led a team of business and technology leaders that commercialized RFID technology.

Michael J. Meranda of Barrington died suddenly on Wednesday, February 27, 2013.
He was the husband of Kristin (Larson) Meranda and the father of a daughter, Madeline Claire Meranda, and a son, Joshua Michael Meranda. He is also survived by a sister Sheryl (Meranda) Dallas, nephew Derek and Dillon Dallas, and niece Meranda (Mandy) Dallas.
He was born in central Indiana and was a resident of Barrington with his wife and children since 2011. A graduate of Avon High School in Indiana, he received a degree from Purdue University and an MS and MBA degree from the University of San Francisco.
Highlights of Meranda's career were leading a marketing team that launched the world's first online bank. He also lead a global team of business and technology leaders that commercialized Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, and a number of global assignments that included running a technology firm in Dubai, UAE.
Relatives and friends may call at 4 pm today, March 7, in the Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, 615 Main Street, Warren and may participate in a service to be held at 5 pm.
