Pet Boutique Hosting 2nd 'Yappy Hour'

You can give your dog a real sweet treat today, Feb. 2.

pet boutique at 232 Waseca Ave. is hosting its second "Yappy Hour" from 6 to 8 pm  And this one is just in time for Valentine's Day.

Owner Karen Lynch describes a Yappy Hour as "when pets and their owners come to the salon to socialize and play." Her first Yappy Hour over the December holidays drew scores of dogs and their owners.

"Everyone had a good time, owners and dogs alike," Lynch said.

And true to her promise after the first "Yappy Hour" last year, Lynch is bringing back the event again.

Comfortable seating will be set up upstairs in her loft for adults, and there will be plenty of toys for pets to play with downstairs in the salon.

You will get 20 percent off any one item in the boutique if you make a $5 donation to the Bristol Animal Shelter. Make a $10 donation and take 15 percent off anything storewide.

Cocktails and treats will be served, Lynch said. For your donation, you will also receive a Valentine's Day bandana for your dog that it can wear on the holiday.
