Join us for a discussion of this year's Reading Across Rhode Island title Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan on Monday, March 31 at 7pm in the Library’s Meeting Room, facilitated by librarian Jane Granatino.
Clay, a RISD graduate, finds a job at an unusual 24-hour bookstore where mysterious patrons borrow obscure texts in the middle of the night. Clay's curiosity compels him to unravel clues with the help of friends, unwittingly leading to the sudden closing of the shop and the disappearance of Mr. Penumbra himself! References to indie bookstores, Google and secret societies and an underlying mystery pull readers of all ages into the mysterious world of Mr. Penumbra.
Limited copies of Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore are available at the library's reference desk.
This talk is free and open to all, and is sponsored by The Rhode Island Center for the Book and the Barrington Public Library. Festina Lente!
