BARRINGTON, RI — The best thing about the plastic holders used to package many of Rhode Island's great craft beers is that they can be saved and popped on fresh four packs for reuse over and over again. One place that has no use for them is the recycle bin.

The Town of Barrington and the Rhode Island Recovery Corporation reminds residents that the 4-pack and 6-pack holders shown above do not qualify to be recycled.

"Calling all craft beer lovers!" the RI Recovery Corporation posted on social media. "RI's mixed recycling program accepts plastic containers only, so please keep 4-pack and 6-pack can holders
out of your recycling bin/cart. Give them another life by checking with your favorite brewery or liquor store to see if they can reuse them. Otherwise, they belong in the trash."
