See Award-Winning Student PSA on Driving Under the Influence of 'Pot'
The video takes second place in a RI competition; three Barrington High School students who created it will be recognized at the State House in April.
Kick Butts Day at Barrington High School on Wednesday aired a video public service announcement that took second place in the 2013 “Safety is NO Accident” competition sponsored by the RI Injury Prevention Center.
It was titled “Driving Under the Influence” of marijuana and focused on the death of a child.
The video was created by freshman Julia Soares and sophomores Lindsey Kloc and Rachel Pereira in last semester’s Introduction to Television Production class taught by John West, the advisor for the Eagle News Network.

The students and the video will be recognized at a ceremony at the RI State House on April 4, with Lt. Gov. Elizabeth Roberts presenting the awards. The girls also will split a $300 prize.
