'Snack With Santa' on Saturday

RE/MAX River's Edge to hold second photo-shoot with Santa and a toy drive to benefit family in need with plenty of snacks to go round.

Santa Claus makes another stop in Barrington on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 3, besides the annual tree-lighting festivites at Town Hall.

It’s the second annual “Snack with Santa” at the office at 300 County Road just south of the Newport Creamery.

From 2 to 4 pm, said Michelle Cartwright, owner of the real estate firm, “Santa will be in full gear and ready to take photos with each child.”

The photos are free and will be sent to parents if they leave an email address, she said. They can make a nice keepsake or used for holiday cards.

“There also will be a toy drive for a local family in need,” Cartwright said. “Bring in a new unwrapped toy.”

The toys will make the kids in at least one family much happier on Christmas Day, she said.

We did say there will be plenty of snacks to share with Santa, including cookies, cupcakes, candies, pizza, drinks and cocoa.  Many of the snacks will be homemade, Cartwright said.

And children can enter a crayon-coloring contest and compete for a special prize. All the drawings will hang in the front window of the agency during the holiday season, she said.

Cartwright dubbed the annual event part “client appreciation” and part community appreciation.
