St. Patrick's Party for Kids & Dogs

Style Unleashed in Barrington invites you today to a St. Patrick's Party and 'Yappy Hour' for children and their dogs.

St. Patrick's Day is not just for parade watching, drinking green beer and the wearin’ o’ the green by adults, is it?

Karen Lynch doesn’t think so, anyway. The owner of on Waseca Avenue is hosting a St. Patrick's Day Party and “Yappy Hour” today for kids and their pet dogs. It runs from noon until 3 pm.

“There will be plenty of treats for dogs, including shamrock cookies, pupcakes and filled shamrock treats as well as a fresh baked St. Patties Canine Cake from New England Dog Cake Company,” she said.

“There will also be plenty of people treats as well,” Lynch said. “We will also be doing a hand-made Doggy Bone Picture Frame craft.”

The cost for each craft is $5 with the proceeds going to local animal shelters, she said.

“Our local shelters are always in need of dog and cat food, cat litter and treats,” Lynch said, “so this allows our community to give back to the shelters who work so hard to find homes for so many local animals.”

Of course, Lynch has stocked up on shamrock toys, green monkeys, green tennis balls, 100-percent wool shamrock sweaters, and shamrock party collars for dogs to celebrate the day in style.

“Our party room upstairs in the boutique is decorated for St. Patricks Day,” she said. “And every attending canine will receive a special shamrock bandana and Peace Love Dogs car magnet.”

Lynch said that she will also be raffling off an art dog print with the winner having more than 25 breeds to choose from.
