'Team Greece' Earns State Title
The 12-and-Under girls' soccer team from the Barrington Youth Soccer Association claimed a state title Saturday by defeating Johnston, 3-1.

The βTeam Greeceβ 12-and-Under girlsβ soccer team sponsored by the Barrington Youth Soccer Association completed a perfect spring season Saturday morning by claiming the state championship of the Rhody Division of the Rhode Island Youth Super Liga program.
Barrington, already crowned the South Division champions, held off a stern challenge and defeated Johnston (North Division titleists), 3-1, in a match played in Chepachet. βTeam Greeceβ consisted of fifth- and sixth-grade girls.

Lia Kok netted two goals for βTeam Greeceβ and Aubrey Humpage scored one. Other team members include Grace Nadich, Olivia Flauss, Olivia Kelly, Erin Abbott, Victoria Mello, Noelle Cooke, Emily Schraer and Ellen Murphy. John Holland was the team coach.
βTeam Greeceβ concluded the spring campaign with a 9-0 record and outscored its opponents by a 42-12 margin.
