She was a devoted member of Barrington United Methodist Church, where she led Bible study groups.

Thelma (Amaral) Furtado, of Bay Spring Avenue, Barrington, passed away on March 8, 2013. She was 80.
Born May 4, 1932, in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Maria (Pimentel) Amaral.
She leaves her children, Marc Furtado of Warren, Michael Furtado of Coventry and Lee Ann Beaupre of Cranston; her grandchildren, Lauren and Erin Beaupre, Mariya, Katerina, Calem and Morgan Furtado; and her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Claire Amaral of Barrington. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Thelma loved her cooking shows as well as cooking for her family and friends. She was a devoted member of the Barrington United Methodist Church and was an active member and leader of her Bible study group.
Her funeral will be held Thursday, March 14, at 12 noon in the Rebello Funeral Home, 901 Broadway, East Providence. Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday morning 10 am until 12 noon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Barrington United Methodist Church, 200 Washington Rd., Barrington, RI 02806.
