Tribute to John Gray May 11
The naming of the Barrington High School auditorium in memory of the longtime principal will take place May 11.

A date for the tribute to John Gray, Barrington High School principal for 29 years, has been set. He passed away last fall.
The auditorium at the high school will be renamed in his memory on Saturday morning, May 11. The dedication ceremony will start at 10 am.
The auditorium was selected as the tribute to keep Gray's memory alive primarily because it generated "the most interest" among staff at the high school and for Gray's wife, said Principal Joseph Hurley.

The auditorium is the place where most students and parents met Gray for the first time when they were freshmen entering the school, Hurley said.
"John loved the arts," he said, "and he was a factor in its renovation."
