An independent film produced by a Barrington authority on amusement rides has been selected to air on “Rhode Island Stories” on WSBE-TV, the state’s public television station.

“Laff In The Dark,” produced by George LaCross of Barrington and his business partner, Bill Luca of Salem, Mass., airs on Feb. 11, 12, 23, and 25 as part of the ongoing WSBE-TV series of local independent documentaries. See the Patch story on LaCross and his lifelong fascination with “dark rides.”

"You can see neighbors, places and events that reflect Rhode Island’s history and issues," he said.

The films chosen for “Rhode Island Stories” have a strong local connection: the independently produced documentaries are made by Rhode Islanders, or feature Rhode Island in some significant way, LaCross said.
