View Mexican Imports at Open House

Barrington and Swansea women launched Jaguar Moon Fine Mexican Imports a couple of months ago.

Maria Elena Wah-Fitta of Barrington, a Mexican native, and Jan Sallinger of Swansea, who lived in Barrington for 40 years, launched Jaguar Moon Fine Mexican Imports about two months ago.

Now the two women are holding a holiday open house on Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 14, that will also benefit TAP-IN, the East Bay social service agency based in Barrington.

It runs from 1 to 3 pm at 55 Palmer River Road on the Barrington line, in Hampden Cove.

"Jan will open her beautiful home to show the Jaguar Moon fine Mexican pewter collection for the last time this holiday season," said Wah-Fitta. "Bring a non-perishable item to donate to TAP-IN, and get an additional 5 percent off of your total purchase."

All in-stock items will be 10 percent off, Wah-Fitta said.

"We have a wide selection of decorative items, including recently imported holiday gifts," she said. "This will be the only opportunity to buy our fine Mexican pewter at a discount this year."

Wah-Fitta said the company "is dedicated to bringing the highest quality Mexican products aimed at people of distinctive taste."

"Our mission is to help our customers surround themselves with beauty in their homes and other special places in their lives, as they entertain their guests."

The importers' first line is a collection of fine Mexican pewter decorative objects and serving ware.

"Our unique decorative objects do not require polishing, and all are made with 100 percent non-toxic materials," said Wah-Fitta.

"Expert craftsmen create each piece by hand," she said, "resulting in uniquely sculpted decorative objects of extreme beauty and high artisan value. With a mix of sleek, modern design and traditional shapes, everyone is able to find something that is perfectly suited to their taste.

"The collection is designed around various themes, such as Asian-inspired sushi sets, or marine and nautical items."
