Volunteers Step Up to Serve Town

Almost two dozen volunteers appointed or reappointed to Barrington's boards and commissions by the Town Council.

Almost two dozen volunteers were appointed or reappointed to serve on various boards and commissions by the Barrington Town Council at it most recent meeting on Monday evening, Dec. 5.

The appointments came after more than a dozen volunteers were interviewed by the councilors. Everyone received recognition from the Town Council for stepping up to serve Barrington.

Among the most anticipated appointments was for one of Barrington’s three seats on the board of the Bristol County Water Authority. Warren and Bristol also have three seats apiece on the BCWA board.

Kevin J. Fitta was named to fill that post after the resignation of John McElroy Jr. several months ago. , a professional engineer with many years of experience in the public water industry. He fills a term that runs through February, 2013.

  • Cynthia Fuller to the Conservation Commission for a term that expires in December, 2014.

  • Jay Dywer to the Harbor Commission for a term that runs through December, 2014.
  • Michael Reuter to the Harbor Commission to fill a term that runs through December, 2014.

  • Matthew Amaral to the Housing Board of Trustees to fill a term that runs through October, 2014.
  • Benjamin Copple as an alternate to the Housing Board of Trustees to fill a term that expires in October, 2014.
