Who Ever Thought Learning About Health Could Be So Much Fun!

BMS Robotics Team - The Variables

Barrington Middle School robotics team, The Variables, is working on a project that will teach 3rd and 4th graders good health practices. As health is an important topic we wanted to come up with an innovative and fun solution to teach and reinforce the health topics students of that age should know. Our solution is to teach through a computer game we are developing called Mission:Life. In the game there will be a series of mazes where your character must answer questions about health in order to proceed through the maze. The questions will focus on three main types of health: physical, emotional, and social or interpersonal relationship health. As the player goes through the mazes they can earn amazing prizes based on how they answer the questions. If they get a question incorrect, the computer will show them the right answer. That way the next time they go through they will know the right answer. This positive reinforcement will help them make good choices in the game - but more importantly in life!
