The Stone Walls of Rhode Island – Wednesday, February 17 (Snow Date February 24)

Presented in collaboration with the Bristol Historical & Preservation Society

The stone walls that lend feeling and character to so many of Rhode Island’s rural landscapes should also be recognized as important sources of historical information. Timothy Ives, Principal Archaeologist of the RI Historical, Preservation and Heritage Commission, will discuss the value of stone walls as cultural resources, focusing on their capacity to enhance relationships between people and their environments through time. Mount Hope Farm’s stone walls will be discussed.

All lectures begin at 7pm and take place in The Barn at Mount Hope Farm. Light refreshments will be served. Handicapped accessible.
