Natalie Swift, is a local wife and mother of six minor children. In July of 2012 she was diagnosed with ALS, also know as Lou Gerhig's Disease. This sad news followed a series of extensive medical tests to determine the reason she suffered from weakness.
Weakness? Absolutely not the word you would use to describe Natalie Swift. While her body may be weakening, Natalie is one of the strongest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Natalie smiles....ALOT! Always a smile and kind words for anyone she encounters. That beautiful warm smile and welcoming demeanor draws you to her and immediately puts you at ease. There is strength in that smile and warm personality that spills over to everyone she meets. She is strong in her convictions and in her Faith. Her unwavering strength and Faith in God, in the face of great adversity is how she is bringing so many people of the East Bay together.
The East Bay has come to support Natalie and her husband, Neil, of 17 years through this very personal battle. Family, friends, acquaintances, even people who have never met Natalie, have been following the struggles that the Swift family has been enduring over the past year and have taken their cause to action.

Several successful fundraiser's have helped the Swift's remodel their home, making it a little easier for Natalie to get around and care for her family. The current fundraiser is a benefit Concert. Proceeds will help purchase a used handicap vehicle and an in home CNA, to meet Natalie's needs as she continues to provide inspiration to the area.
Natalie's resolve is "God has a plan, I have God on my side, He's there for me. Whatever happens will be in his hands."
