Alfred's Consignments Coming to Warren

The Barrington antiques and home furnishings consignment shop in Maplewood Square is moving to the former Jade Tree restaurant in Warren.

Alfred’s of Barrington is closing and moving to Warren.

Alfred Brazil, of Bristol, who owns the Maplewood Square consignment store, said he is moving into the former Jade Tree restaurant at 480 Main St. in Warren. His lease expires on Oct. 31.

“It’s all on one level,” said Brazil. “This store has two levels, and I wanted to get it all onto one.”

Brazil said he has no regrets operating in Barrington.

“It’s been really wonderful there,” he said of his 6-½ years in Barrington. “It’s a beautiful building, and it’s great for a shop. And I like Barrington.”

Brazil said the former Warren restaurant, which has been gutted, also puts him on a main street.

“I was always a bit out of the way off of Maple Avenue,” he said. “People had to look in that direction. But it was still a great place.”

Brazil said his new location will have the same consignment goods: furnishings, glassware, jewelry, dishes and silver. Nothing will change except he’ll be at a new location and all on one floor.

A for-lease sign already hangs on the Maplewood Square sign.
