
Ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes of the Bristol Police Department?
Here's your chance: The Bristol Police Department will again be hosting a Citizens Police Academy starting March 8, 2011.
The Citizens Police Academy is a 10-week course that will be held on Tuesday evenings from 7PM to 9PM at the Bristol Police Department training room, located at 395 Metacom Ave. There is no cost to attend and the course is open to all Bristol residents 18 years of age or older.
The goal of the academy is to provide citizens of Bristol a better understanding of the mission and operations of the department.
Topics will include department structure, patrol procedures, dispatch operations, narcotics, search warrants, crime scene investigation, use of force, domestic violence, traffic enforcement, D.U.I. investigation, duties of the school resource officer, juvenile crime and the court system.
