
Gerald C. Sousa, 73, of Libby Lane, Warren, died Sunday at Crestwood Nursing Center in Warren. Born in Warren, he wasĀ a son of the late Joseph and Eva (Perry) Sousa and the beloved husband of Martha (Cheesman) Sousa.
He was a self employed sign painter for many years before retiring in 2003. Mr. Sousa has also worked at the former Kliestone Rubber Company, Read's Dairy and for Meeting Street School where he was the maintenance foreman.
He has served as the treasurer for FOPA in Warren, was a member of the Warren Senior Center, and enjoyed photography.

He also leaves his children, David P. Sousa of Warren and his partner Janet, Gerald C. Sousa Jr. and his wife Andrea of Denver, NC and Kimberly J. Sousa of Warren; a brother Paul J. Sousa of Anderson, SC. Mr. Sousa was the grandfather of David and his girlfriend Jan, Eric, Jill and her husband Mike, Bobby and his wife Tina, Emily and her husband Justin, Dan and Maggie, and great-grandfather of Eric, Ally, Camryn, Connor and Avery. He was predeceased by his sister- in- law Betty Sousa.
Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services where family will receive friends Friday, Jan. 28, 4-7pm. The funeral service will begin at 7pm. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Meeting Street School, 1000 Eddy Street, Providence, RI 02905.
