Animal Control Officer Says Animals Are Healthy, Not Neglected
Bristol Animal Control Officer says there is room for improvement, but the owner is not doing anything illegal.

Last week, a Facebook user posted more than 50 photographs of the living conditions of animals that inhabit the property behind Jack's Salvage in Bristol, .
According to Examiner.com, the RISPCA visited the property last week and stated that there was no evidence of animal cruelty or neglect, and Bristol's Animal Control Officer Jen Federico says she has to agree.
"IĀ went down to check everything out today," Federico said via email on Wednesday. "All the animals are healthy...in fact the hens and roosters are beautiful!"

Federico says that three out of four of the dog pens are dog houses and are not as small as they appear in the photographs that were recently posted on Facebook. The goats, she writes, has two shelters, all layered with hay to protect them from the elements. While there, Federico said she noticed that all of the animals had a food supply and fresh water.Ā
According to Rhode Island State Law, Section 4-1-2, an animal needs to be harmed in some way as a result of the way it is being kept for there to be a charge of cruelty.
