Ava Anderson CFO Charged with Embezzlement
Police said the CFO, 59, had Ava Anderson products shipped to Florida to be relabeled and sold under a different name.

The chief financial officer for Rhode Island-headquartered Ava Anderson Non Toxic, a fast-growing natural products company, has been charged with felony embezzlement.
Robert Anderson, 59, of North Providence, of no relation to the Anderson family that owns the company, was arrested on Thursday by Warren police and is now free on personal recognizance after appearing in Sixth Division District Court on Friday.
Police said Anderson was shipping some of the company’s products to a Key West, FL, address where they new labels were slapped on and sold in a Key West Organics store under a different name.

The company owner notified police with a lawyer recently after uncovering evidence, police said.
Warren police, along with North Providence police, raided Anderson’s house where they found Ava Anderson products.

Police said the value of the stolen items was more than $50,000.
Anderson is due to appear in Superior Court at a later date.
Kim Anderson, company owner, declined commenting about the case.
