It sure would have been nice to receive a communication from BWRSD regarding former Principal McGhee and a replacement. A blurb from Tracy on the FB school page is NOT adequate communication with parents from the district. Mrs. McGhee posted on Aug. 1; still no communication from BWRSD. The school and the district is never hesitant to ask for something that they need! When they want something, I get at least two e-mails, 3 flyers and a connect-ed broadcast.
Considering that many of the CA community are still left from the Byfield and Reynolds closings and subsequent merger, it was clearly expressed then that the BWRSD was not adequately communicating with the two sets of merging parents until Mrs. McGhee assumed personal responsibility for that task (one of the things we like/love about her.)
Also, perhaps the BWRSD should try to discover specifically why Mrs. McGhee is making a horizontal career move if they have not done so already and seek to rectify that situation in the future. I am sure money is part of the conversation, and finances are what they are; however, it is doubtful that is the only component of the conversation. If it is, the district should be examining what the highest performing communities in the state are offering for compensation.

While we are certainly limited by the recent funding formula being applied to an already cash strapped district, we cannot overlook other basic economic principles which attract the best talent to the available positions.
