BCWA Appoints New Legal Counsel

The Bristol County Water Authority has hired a new legal firm.

The board of directors of the Bristol County Water Authority voted on Feb. 27 to appoint Keogh & Sweeney of Pawtucket, RI as their new legal counsel.  The vote was 6-1 with 1 abstaining. Voting for Keogh & Sweeney: Ray Palmieri, Robert Allio, Kevin Fitta, Joe DeMelo, Bill Gosselin, and Allan Klepper. Voting Against: Frank Sylvia. Abstaining: John Jannito.

The motion was made by Ray Palmieri of Warren to nominate Keogh & Sweeney as counsel, and seconded. At that point, Allan Klepper read a letter from Cameron & Mittleman asking that their firm be removed from consideration.  The vote then proceeded.

Many felt that Cameron & Mittleman had already been voted out when the firm failed to garner the five votes required in January.

We congratulate Keogh & Sweeney on their appointment and wish them the best.
