May 4th: RI Independence Day, Warren Town Employees Day-Off

Paid holidays are a great burden on taxpayers that are struggling to pay their taxes.

A reminder to all Warren residents, if you have business with the town of Warren, they will not be open on Friday, May 4th. It is a holiday for town employees and a further burden for the taxpayers who will be working.

This day off is part of the contract with the town that followed years of this forgotten holiday and event. Does anyone know what holiday it is? RI INDEPENDENCE DAY. It is a holiday that no longer has any meaning other than to the town employees and a long weekend. I have made point of this wasted tax dollar day and do not seem to catch anyone else's opinion.  This comment will most likely make town employees upset, but for the majority of taxpayers, are you working on Friday?

I believe this holiday needs to be negotiated out of the contract and take some tax burden off the taxpayers of Warren. If anyone else agrees, please spread the word.
