Ray Palmieri Unananimously Elected as Warren BCWA Director

Mr. Ray Palmieri appointed as Warren Director for the Bristol County Water Authority.

At the Warren Town Meeting on Tuesday night, Ray Palmieri, Sr.  was unanamously elected to the position of Director at the Bristol County Water Authority.  The motion was made by Councilwoman Cathie Tattrie to bypass the interview process since Mr. Palmieri had applied for the position last year, and to nominate him for the position.  I believe it was seconded by Davison Bolster.  The vote was unanimous.  Mr. Palmieri fills the position left by the resignation of Frank Nencka.

Mr. Palmieri served on the recent tri-town committee, headed by Bristol Town Council member Tony Texeira, that worked on proposed much-needed changes to the legislation that govern the Bristol County Water Authority.  These changes will be fine-tuned and voted on at the Tri-Town meeting March 29th to be held in Barrington.

It is my understanding that a new director was named in Barrington this week, but I don't have the name.  If this information is accurate there are now five new directors on the Bristol County Water Authority and a possiblity of a new director in Bristol.

The BCWA meetings will be video-taped and aired on Cox Cable and Full Channel starting with tonight's meeting.  Doug Sampson, a senior at and a student of Brian Latessa's videography class, will tape the Wednesday evening meeting.

All of these changes, plus a new Executive Director, will hopefully lead to a turnaround at the Bristol County Water Authority.  We are hoping to see an audit called for of all monies received from the Bristol County Water Authority Supply Act.  Let's clear the air once and for all and start fresh.
