 Soon, I will begin a new series of BLOGs concerned with the workings, activities, finances, successes and failures of the Fourth of July Committee.  Forty-years of research of facts gleaned from period newspapers, Committee minutes and personal observation is the grist for my new BLOG.

The narrative amounting to about 50,000 words was offered to the Committee through three successive Committee Chairmen for publication as a fundraiser, each offer was refused.

I believe it is the duty of the social historian to broadcast historical research to the widest possible interested audience. Hence, a new BLOG is in the wings for all who are interested.

Each article will address one specific year.
