With Diane Mederos announcing that she will not run again for Town Administrator, there is much speculation on who will run, and who can win.
My vote goes for Tony Teixiera! He is the breath of fresh air that is sorely needed in Bristol. He has accomplished much in his first term on the Town Council and he is respected by all.
Even though it was his first term, he was not afraid to take on the problems of the Bristol County Water Authority, ask tough questions, and head a committee that wrote new (and much needed) legislation for the Bristol County Water Authority Act. Unfortunately, after much hard work and coordination between towns, the recommendations ended up sitting on a solicitor's desk for two months before getting forwarded to the legislators. If he had not had the tenacity to follow up on this legislation it would probably still be sitting there, unprocessed.

He also did his own research on the East Bay Energy Consortium and came to the conclusion that it was not a project that should be under government control.
These are just two of the issues that he has shown true leadership on and has shown that he is his own man.

And, above all, he is a gentleman! He does not berate those who disagree with him or ask questions. He will listen to every viewpoint respectfully and make up his own mind.
He is devoted to Bristol and his credentials are excellent (which is why he was chosen as Grand Marshall for this year's 4th of July Parade) and I, for one, hope he throws his hat into the ring.
As the top vote getter for the Town Council race last election, he will certainly have much support.
