The first Bloomraiser to raise funds to beautify downtown Bristol with hanging flowering baskets on the Hope Street lanterns was a smashing success! Over 125 locals came out in support of the plan held at the Dewolf waterfront tent. The tent was beautifully decorated with Chinese lanterns in shades of pink and lime green with floral arrangements made by committee members in muted shades of hydrangea and hot pink roses. Hot pink table toppers completed the décor!
Stan Dimock was given a golden watering can in commemoration of his beautification efforts downtown over the years. The Honorary Chairs also received certificates of appreciation.
Party goers raised over $4000 which brings the total raised to date to nearly $9000! Fundraising will continue so that all the lanterns on Hope Street will be festooned with hanging baskets by Memorial Day 2014!
Donations in any amount can be sent to: BRISTOL BLOOMS, Box 1083, Bristol 02809. We greatly appreciate you support!
