Bristol Fire Indoor Soccer Team Finishes Season, 2-8

Bristol Fire under 10 (U10) boys team recently finished their first session together at Sherwood Ultra Sports in Seekonk, MA with a mixed 2-8 record. Although they did not finish the season as champions, they played very well.

The majority of the boys had never played competitive soccer prior to this season and had only participated in the Bristol Youth Soccer fall recreational program, but after having decided to attend tryouts, all of the boys successfully made the Bristol Fire team. 

The season statistics did not clearly show how hard the team had progressed since the season opener and were narrowly defeated on a majority of occasions.  

"The boys sometimes started the games on the back foot and were not well prepared, this had meant that on occasion we were a couple of goals down in the first few minutes," Assistant Coach Stu Gaskell said. "We had to work on them being focused from the offset and to be ready in all respects when the referee blew his whistle." 

During the last game they showed that all the hard work during practices had paid off when they managed to bring themselves collectively together for a comprehensive victory over Dighton Rehoboth, 6-0, in their final consolation game of the season. 

"They all gave a tremendous display for their final indoor game and they are all excited to take that effort outdoors with their first game against Jamestown on Sunday, April 3rd," said Gaskell. 

The team is comprised of Zachary Araujo, Iain Barry, Bowen Drawbridge, Bobby Faulkner, Alex Ferreira, Brandon Gaskell, Jonathon Jones, Daniel Leger, Josh Lima, Aidan Neves, Joey Osmanski and Ryan Simons. The team is coached by Ron Augustus and Stu Gaskell
