Bristol Police Warn Residents About Possible Scam
The police and the union are not soliciting money, the police department said. Anyone who receives a call asking for money should beware.

BRISTOL, RI—Bristol police are alerting residents about a possible telephone scam. Callers are asking for donations for the police union or the police department. But neither is involved. Although police cannot yet say for sure this solicitation is a scam, they urge people to be aware their donations will not be going to the local police.
