Dem. Warren Council Candidates: We'll Move Warren in Prosperous Direction

"Our team has an accurate pulse on Warren's concerns and will collectively respond with fresh ideas,"the candidates said in a statement.

The following campaign statement is by Warren’s endorsed Democrat Town Council Candidates.

Lewis Carroll once wrote ā€œIf you don’t know where you are going, any road will get you there.ā€ For the past 6-years, significant and complex problems have startled Warren’s citizenry. A lack of a one-party majority on the Town Council has stifled our ability to move forward in a clear direction. Today, we have a solid 5-person endorsed Democratic Team that voters can take pride in and rally behind. Our team has an accurate pulse on Warren’s concerns and will collectively respond with fresh ideas and place Warren on a solid road to recovery.

Clearly, one of the biggest threats to our community is the State’s new school funding formula, which reduces aid to Bristol-Warren Regional School District by approximately $8 million over a 10-year span. Our endorsed Democratic Team thoroughly understands the complexities of this problem and has the advantage of close party affiliations with local state legislators to work through this together.

Additionally, when elected, our endorsed Democratic team will facilitate the creation of a Town Strategic Plan with residents, local business, and Town and school official participation. Focus will be on small business expansion and retention, business-friendly zoning regulations, waterfront development, residential and municipal property repair, preservation of historical assets, and technical support to enhance tourism. Our team will support the arts, recreation, conservation of open space, as well as police, volunteer fire and rescue services. We will strive towards efficient municipal management with convenient hours and quality customer service.

On September 9th, support the endorsed Democratic team of Mark Aubin, David Frerichs, Catherine Tattrie, John Bento, and Richard Silva. We will move the Town of Warren in a new prosperous direction.
