The fire started in a house at 940 Hope St., witnesses said.

BRISTOL, RI— Crews responded Friday to a fire on Hope Street. According to fire Chief Michael De Mello, two went to the hospital and were treated for smoke inhalation. The first alarm sounded at 5:45 a.m. It took crews 10 to 15 minutes to knock the fire down, he said.
The fire, which is still under investigation, appears to have started in a second floor bedroom, the chief said. No firefighters were hurt. A dog was in the house but got out safely.
