Errant Mylar Balloon Knocks Out Power To 3,400 In Warren
The outage was resolved in about an hour, National Grid said.
WARREN, RI — Thousands of Warren residents woke up in the dark Friday morning, after a balloon knocked out power to a large swatch of the town.
A mylar balloon made contact with a wire around 8 a.m., a spokesperson for National Grid told Patch. The outage affected about 3,400 residents, and power was back on within about an hour.
