Keith Stavely and Kathleen Fitzgerald will be at the George Hail Library to talk about their new book "Northern Hospitality -- Cooking by the Book in New England."
Covering almost 400 historic New England recipes from the 17th century to the 20th century ranging from wine soaked bass to almond cheesecake infused with rosewater to zesty ginger nuts, the authors will discuss regional New England cooking and how it is more than baked beans, chowder and clam cakes.
Stavely and Fitzgerald are the authors of "America's Founding Food: The Story of New England Cooking." Copies of the new book will be available for purchase at the program.
