KING PHILIP’S WAR: CEREMONIAL LANDSCAPES AND BATTLEFIELDS

What happens when Native American ceremonial grounds, like those at Mount Hope Farm and others, becomes a battlefield? Doug Harris, Preservationist for Ceremonial Landscapes Specialist, Narragansett Indian Tribal Historic Preservation Office, and Paul Robinson, Department of Anthropology, RI College, will discuss their efforts to identify and protect the landscape battlefield at Nipsachuck in northern RI.
