Ichabod Visits the Library for Discussion on Animal Cruelty

This is Ichabod, who has a very sad story to tell.  He will be at the library on April 18. Taken from his previous owner in December after the Rhode Island SPCA received a tip regarding an extremely underweight dog living at an apartment in Providence, he arrived at the Rhode Island SPCA, almost dead.  Ichabod weighed a mere 22 pounds, was severely anemic, dehydrated, emaciated, and had demodectic mange which caused patches of his fur to fall off.  It was a clear case of failure to provide adequate care, food, and water to this poor animal.  Ichabod had ingested blankets, clothing, and other household items in an attempt to survive.

Dr. E.J. Finocchio, DVM  and president of the RISPCA, will be at the library to tell Ichabod’s story and to address the effect of the court’s ruling on future cases of animal cruelty.

Space is limited so please call the library at 245-7686 if you are planning on attending. Just say Ichabod!
