Older Adult Health Fair and Lunch and Learn

On Wednesday, May 16th, the Bayside YMCA is celebrating Active Older Adult Day. All Active Older Adults are welcome to join us at the Bayside YMCA, 70 West Street, Barrington. Display tables and screening booths will be open from 9:00 am to noon. Posture, flexibility and balance assessments and glucose, cholesterol, and blood pressure screening will be available. Enjoy seated massage or reiki. This year Grace Barker Nursing Center, Atria Bay Spring Village, East Bay Manor, the Arthritis Foundation, and Barrington Senior Center have displays. Ask the pharmacist or ask a dietitian. Learn more about home safety. Information will be available on foster grandparents, Ocean State Center for Independent Living, Rhode Island Mood and Memory Institute, Rhody Tides senior games, and The Point. Learn about the following companies; Senior Care Concepts, Comfort Keepers, Home Instead and Cornerstone Adult Services. The health and information fair will be followed by lunch and a speaker from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm. The topic is “Putting Your Feet First” by Olympic Physical Therapy. All are encouraged to stay for the exercise class from 1:30 pm to 2:15 pm. All activities are free and open to the public. This event is sponsored by Olympic Physical Therapy.
