Open Yoga

What is Open Yoga?

Find out what's happening in Bristol-Warrenfor free with the latest updates from Patch.

Open Yoga is just as it sounds. We open the yoga studio for use by yoga students to do a self-guided yoga practice without a teacher. We welcome students to use the space and studio props for asana, meditation, and pranayama practice without the guidance of a teacher but rather to go inside and truly practice your own yoga.

Are There Guidelines for Open Yoga?

You should only practice what you are most comfortable with doing. The studio is staffed with volunteers during Open Yoga, and these volunteers are not there to teach yoga or workshop asanas. Use this time to go deeper into your own practice in whatever way makes most sense for you, but recognize that you're on your own on your mat!

Also, please limit your conversation in the studio during Open Yoga. While you are welcome to chat in the entry rooms, please be respectful of other students practices and privacy in the yoga studio during open yoga.

Last, space at the studio is limited. Please be respectful and understanding of everyone's space and make room for people as needed.

What Does Open Yoga Cost?

There is no set cost for open yoga but please feel free to leave a donation to support the studio. Any amount is welcome.

Do I Have to Come for the Whole Time?

No. Come for any amount of time you wish. You can come for 5 minutes or come for the entire time Open Yoga is offered. You choose what works best for you and your schedule, and just come! And, no need to RSVP... just come!

I Can't Make it Due to Scheduling Conflicts. Will you offer Open Yoga at Other Times?

Yes, depending on studio availability and staffing, we will offer Open Yoga as much as possible. If you're interested in becoming an Open Yoga volunteer, please email Tracy at bristolyogastudio@gmail.com
