Society of Saint Vincent de Paul Walk for the Poor

The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul invites you to join its third annual, 1.3 mile benefit "Walk a Mile in My Shoes."

The Walk for the Poor is the only fundraiser for the Society each year. In 2010, money raised at the walk was distributed to 1500 individuals in 39 Rhode Island communities. (Nationally, the Society distributed $565 million in financial assistance to people throughout the United States in 2010.)

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization of more than 700,000 people in 140 countries who visit needy people in their homes to provide comfort and financial assistance. For almost 200 years, the members of the Society of of St. Vincent de Paul have been been growing spirtually by offering person-to-person service to others in need.

The event will be held at Colt State Park in Bristol on Saturday, Sept. 24. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the walk starts at 10:30.
