The worst drought in 60 years has left more than 10 million people in Somalia, Kenya and Ethiopia struggling to survive. Loss of crops and livestock, armed conflict, soaring global food prices and a lack of adequate response by the international community have worsened the humanitarian crisis. 80% of Somali refugees are children who walk, often for weeks, to reach refugee camps in southern Ethiopia.
The Rhode Island Yoga Community, including Bristol Yoga Studio, has responded with a joint effort to raise funds for Save the Children and Edesia, who are major contributors to the relief efforts in response to this challenge.
