Letter: Mt. Hope Baseball Has Bright Season Ahead

A recap of the Mt. Hope Baseball team's starting game and outline of key players provided by Head Coach Bob Millard.

This year, the 2012 Baseball team looks ahead to a promising year and will be anchored by a solid pitching staff.

Seniors Joe Simeone and Cody Stanzione and the return of Junior Jeremy Securo will provide the Huskies with three solid starting pitchers. Senior catcher Kyle Mello, Junior first baseman Josh Hunt and Junior Corey Gendreau have also proven to be reliable in early scrimmage games.

The Huskies are fortunate to have two very good catchers. Kyle Melo will see the majority of the action behind the plate; he is a top defensive catcher and will bat clean-up. Cody Stanzione will replace Melo behind the plate, and is an equally good defensive catcher.  When not pitching or catching, Stanzione will be the third baseman.  Stanzione, one of the best hitters in the State will bat third.

Corey Gendreau will also see time in the outfield as well.

Senior Danny Toms and Sophomore Brent Millard will provide the Huskies will solid defense a short and second base respectively. Jeremy Securo and Junior Louis Costa will provide the Huskies will some added offense as well.
