In London After Terrorist Attack on Parliament Roger Williams University Students Report They're Safe

Some Roger Williams University students in central London report they're safe after Wednesday's attack on Parliament.

BRISTOL, RI—The 21 Roger Williams University students studying in London have notified the school they're all safe after Wednesday's terrorist attack on Parliament, university officials said. The students are studying at the University of Westminster, in central London.

"According to news reports, a vehicle mowed down pedestrians on London's Westminster Bridge, and a knife-wielding attacker stabbed a police officer and was shot outside Britain's Parliament," the school said. "The attack took place less than two miles from the University of Westminster."

“It is a horrible turn of events, but we are comforted in knowing that all the students in our London program are safe and sound,” said Kevin C. Hayden, director of RWU’s Study Abroad Programs. "As soon as they learned of the attack, RWU officials reached out to the 21 students who are spending the semester in London as part of the university’s Study Abroad Programs," school officials added.
