Joshua Sousa, 26, of 13 Alma Ave., was charged with disorderly conduct on Tuesday, Feb. 1, after police received a call from Jade Palace claiming that two men left without paying for their beers. According to police, officers confronted the two men that were walking on the side of the road.

Sousa allegedly used profane language telling the officer that he was not going to pay for the beer. Police allegedly advised Sousa that he would be arrested if he did not cooperate. According to police, Sousa showed signs of intoxication by slurring his speech and continuing to scream profanities. Police said that Sousa began walking in the road toward Jade Palace causing traffic to stop.

According to police, Sousa stopped near the restaurant, took $6 from his wallet and threw it at the officer while yelling obscenities. Police said that the officer again advised Sousa to stop using vulgar language. Sousa then allegedly took a fighting stance and screamed more threatening profanities. He was then taken into custody.
