Mt. Hope Boosters to Host Jamboree Saturday

The girls’ soccer program will host the fifth annual Kayleigh Raposa Soccer Jamboree on Saturday, Aug. 27, with 14 exhibition varsity and junior varsity matches starting at 9 a.m. at in Warren.

According to information supplied by Roy Borges, coach of the Huskies’ girls’ soccer varsity squad, Saturday’s Jamboree will also feature teams from Rhode Island and Massachusetts high schools. Rhode Island schools Portsmouth High, St.Mary/Bay View Academy of East Providence, LaSalle Academy of Providence will be joined by Massachusetts schools Seekonk High, Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High, Somerset High and Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High.

Two fields at Kickemuit Middle School will be used for Saturday’s program.

The Field 1 schedule is as follows:

• LaSalle vs. Mt. Hope (9 a.m.)
• Bridgewater-Raynham vs. Bay View (10 a.m.)
• LaSalle vs. Bridgewater-Raynham (11 a.m.)
• Bay View vs. Mt. Hope (noon)
• Seekonk vs. Mt. Hope (1 p.m.)
• LaSalle vs. Dighton-Rehoboth (2 p.m.)
• LaSalle junior varsity vs. Mt. Hope junior varsity (3 p.m.)
• Seekonk vs. LaSalle junior varsity (4 p.m.)

The Field 2 schedule is as follows:

• Portsmouth vs. Somerset (9 a.m.)
• Portsmouth vs. Dighton-Rehoboth (10 a.m.)
• Dighton-Rehoboth vs. Somerset (11 a.m.)
• Somerset vs. LaSalle junior varsity (noon)
• Portsmouth vs. Bridgewater-Raynham (1 p.m.)
• Bay View vs. Seekonk (2 p.m.)

According to Borges, all matches will consist of two 25-minute halves with a five-minute break at halftime. Concessions will be sold throughout the day by the Mt. Hope Booster Association.
