Mt. Hope Marching Band Performs During Columbus Day Parade

Mt. Hope High School participated in the Columbus Day Parade in Providence.

The Mt. Hope High School marching band took part in the annual Columbus Day Parade on Federal Hill, held Oct. 9 in Providence.

Thousands of people lined Atwells Avenue to watch the procession on the warm and sunny afternoon to celebrate the anniversary of Christopher Columbus arriving in the New World.

Mt. Hope was the first high school corps in the parade, joining military honor guards, the Providence Mounted Police, and classic cars — including the original Batmobile — in Division I.
