Mt. Hope Seniors Claim Powderpuff Football Victory [Video]

Seniors beat the juniors in the annual game, 25-13.

The seniors playing in the annual Powderpuff football game claimed their victory on Tuesday evening against the junior class.

Seniors scored the first touchdown within minutes of the first quarter in the game which was greeted by cheers from the crowd of supporters. Just before the half, juniors scored a touchdown tying up the game, 6 - 6. The seniors led the second half scoring three more touchdowns which were followed up by one final touchdown from the juniors. The final score, 25-13, provided the seniors with the .

"The girls all did a really amazing job," said coach Shane Parker.

Allison Faria, a player for the senior team, said that even though she was  punched in the face by an opponent while on the field, she had a great time playing.

"This game was much ," she said. "I had a lot of fun. The juniors this year were vicious though. They did a lot of talk about how they were going to beat us, but we brought our game."

Despite the junior's loss, there were no hard feelings between the two teams. Players from both teams rushed to eachother after the final score was announced to shake hands and embrace eachother. While in their post-game team huddle, the juniors chanted, "we're number two! We're number two!"

"We wanted to win, who doesnt?" one player said. "But it was fun, regardless of winning."
