Mt. Hope Students Receive Scholastic Awards for Artwork
Four Mt. Hope students received "Gold Key" awards and will be entered into a national competition.
recently announced that student artists have received nine scholastic art awards. The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards is a yearly competition that takes place at the state level, with the Gold Key award winners being entered in the national competition.
This year’s Mt. Hope High School winners are:
- Nick Andreadis, Gold Key for his Mixed Media piece, “Look Through Me”, as well as a Portfolio award
- Maddie Dennis, Gold Key for her Comic Art, “Cyclodrama”
- Tyler Murgo, Gold Key for his film, “Recipe-X”
- Keely Varada, Gold Key for her photograph, “To Be”
- Nicole Delekta, Silver Key for her photo, ”The Storm Passes”
- Brooke Pacheco, 2 Silver Keys for ceramics pieces, “Hand and Twig” and “Hand and Shell”
- Alyssa Stuart, Silver Key for her painting “Self Portrait”
The student work will be on display at the Gallery at Salve Regina from Tuesday Jan. 17, through Sunday, Feb. 5, during regular gallery hours. Students will receive their awards at the official awards ceremony on Jan. 22.
