Updated: Murder in Bristol? Providence Police Say Suspects in Officer-Involved Shooting Are Connected
According to police, the Providence police-involved shooting on Friday was related to a possible murder in Bristol.

BRISTOL, RI—Bristol police are investigating the death of a 66-year-old resident. Eudora Gustafson, of Sowams Drive, was pronounced dead in her home on Feb. 10. Officers were called there for "an unresponsive person" shortly before 7 p.m. on Friday.
WPRI-TV later on Friday night reported an officer-involved shooting in the City was related to a "possible" homicide investigation in Bristol.
Two suspects were shot on Friday night in Providence on Branch Avenue near Charles Street, according to news sources.

They were identified as Raymond Paiva, 24, and Selena Martinez, 21.
Bristol police said the two were "known to Gustafson," and they were wanted for questioning about her death.

Joseph Wendelken, public information officer with the Rhode Island Department of Health, confirmed the cause of her death is still pending.
Meanwhile, the case is being investigated as a suspicious death, Bristol police said.
On Friday, the Bristol police issued a broadcast to area law enforcement agencies. The message said Paiva and Martinez were wanted for questioning. It also described the vehicle they were driving.
"The Providence Police Department subsequently located Raymond Paiva and Selena Martinez in the vehicle on Friday night near Charles Street and Branch Avenue," Bristol police said.
"Bristol Police determined at the beginning of the investigation that this was an isolated incident and that at no time was there any indication that any other members of the public were in danger," said Capt. Brian C. Burke.
The death investigation is on-going in conjunction with the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office. Criminal charges will be forthcoming, Bristol police confirmed..
