Obituary: Gordon McKay Morrison

Gordon McKay Morrison, 51, of William Street, Bristol, died suddenly Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 at the Rhode Island Hospital, Providence.

Born in Providence, and a lifelong Bristol resident, he was the son of Carolyn Ruth (Miranda) Morrison of Bristol and the late Gordon McKay Morrison.

Gordon was a self-employed woodworker in Bristol, a graduate of Bristol High School Class of 1979. Besides woodworking, he loved sailing.

Besides his mother, he will be sadly missed by his daughter, Sara Morrison, his sister, Laurie Ann Morrison, both of Bristol, his companion Meredith Miller of Wakefield and his beloved dog Sophie.

Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St. Bristol Saturday, Nov. 10, at 10 a.m. with a Graveside Service at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours Friday, Nov. 9, 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to International Yacht Restoration School 449 Thames Street, Newport, RI 02840.
